Tongue Tied Post Malone

April 13, 2018

April 13th, 2018

I 2005 when I first heard "White Iverson" by Post Malone, best believe I never expected to call him an Alternative radio artist. This Syracuse native is always finding ways to surprise the public with his tendencies to swerve in and out of genre lanes with his music.  Post himself refers to his style as "genre-less." Being a person with many musical interests I can relate to his style and personality and I think that's why other people relate to this artist as well. Here we are in 2018 playing "Burning Man" his feature with writer extraordinaire (Andrew) WATT. Post Malone is also a guitarist who credits his interest in learning from the game Guitar Hero. In 2010 he auditioned for Crown The Empire but failed his attempt to swoon them as he broke a guitar string during the performance. Post Malone can't be categorized in music and in personality and that's why he belongs on Alternative Radio- we're a home for the misfits.

The day I realized that Post was more than just a hip hop artist was the day the video of him singing Alt Family members Grouplove's "Tongue Tied"  - that instant feeling of.. "yeah..this is all of us!"

But wait...there's more! Here he is covering Nirvana's "All Apologies":

Okay I promise this is the last one! A "Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's cover with help from Vic Mensa:

Post Malone will be performing at Darien Lake Amphitheater with special guest 21 Savage on Saturday May 26th. You can purchase those tickets here with us.
